Wellbeing Workshop to Help Students Manage Emotions

BEAM Shropshire practitioners: Susie Brace, Aneeta Banga and Helen Brettle

As part of Bridgnorth Endowed’s ongoing pastoral programme, students took part in a ‘Healthy Coping’ workshop run by the Children’s Society’s emotional health and wellbeing service earlier this month.

The event, delivered by medical practitioners from BEAM Shropshire, involved small groups from all year groups taking part in a one-hour session designed to offer practical suggestions and advice.

Its main focus was to give young people the opportunity to learn more about emotions and to encourage them to develop effective strategies to maintain their own emotional wellbeing.

Pastoral Manager, Mrs Mitchell, said: “We recognise how important it is to give our students plenty of support and the right tools to help them to address mental health issues, now more than ever.”

“The workshop was incredibly insightful and the students found it very useful to identify different ways to manage their anxiety and emotions. A big thank you to BEAM Shropshire.”

BEAM Shropshire will be running a series of online workshops for parents, carers and professionals in July and August. Download the programme here →
