Hair/Jewellery/Makeup

Hair Hair must be a natural colour and worn in a simple, inconspicuous style. Graded patterns or designs are not allowed.
Jewellery We permit one small plain ring and one small plain stud in each pierced earlobe. No other body piercings are permitted. If a student has a nose piercing, a clear plastic spacer must be worn. No jewellery is to be worn during PE lessons. Badges (unless associated with school activities) are not allowed.
Makeup Makeup is discouraged, and those wearing excessive makeup will be asked to remove it. Nail varnish and/or acrylic coloured nails are not allowed. Nails should be natural looking, with no coloured nail varnish.
Tattoos Tattoos are considered inappropriate.

Students are required to bring a basic stationery kit into school each day and specialist equipment as required. See list for details

Additional Guidance

  • Trousers must be formal style, with straight leg and not skinny fit.
  • The school tie must be tied correctly and the top button on the shirt fastened.
  • School skirts must be knee length or longer.
  • Boots, trainers and pumps are not allowed.
  • Footwear must not have any colour or logo.
  • School jumpers, cardigans or tank tops can be purchased direct from the suppliers.
  • All items of clothing should be clearly marked with the owner's name.

Consequences for Incorrect Uniform

Pupils failing to meet the school’s uniform policy will be given a detention and may be internally isolated or sent home.

NOTE: In respect of uniform, Bridgnorth Endowed School will make any final decisions about what uniform is or is not acceptable. Students who are unsure about the suitability or particular items of clothing should refer to our school website or consult with their Head of House before purchasing or wearing such items to school.
