Conservative MP for Ludlow, Mr Philip Dunne, paid a visit to Bridgnorth Endowed School last Friday and met with Headteacher, Mr Worth, and next year’s newly-elected House Captains.

The long-standing Member of Parliament approached the school in a bid to find out how things have been going in the wake of all the disruption and discuss any specific issues.

After enjoying a short talk on Mr Dunne’s 16-year political background, the Year 10 students were then given the opportunity to take part in a question-and-answer session to dig a little deeper.

The conversation covered local flooding, apprenticeships plummeting to a ten-year low, and what the government is doing to encourage young people to vote Conservative.

The students were given full and frank responses, together with plenty of insight into how things work in government – something they all found incredibly interesting.

Commenting on the meeting, Mr Worth said: “It was a privilege to see our local representative engage with our students, developing their citizenship skills and raising issues that impact on their lives.”

“We would like to thank Mr Dunne for his visit and very much look forward to welcoming him again in the near future.”
