Bridgnorth Endowed and William Brookes found a rare break in the rain on Tuesday to produce a thrilling display.
After early pressure from WBS, Bridgnorth settled and found their rhythm with captain Liv Holt dominating the midfield. Sophia Avraam caused problems up front and Franki Bowen prevailed down the wing.
BES finally broke the deadlock when Harriet Walton found the net with a stunning strike and Hannah Belcher tucked away a second goal to add to their lead.
William Brookes came roaring back and moved their captain and goalkeeper up front. This proved crucial as they scored two goals in quick succession with one from the goalkeeper turned midfielder.
The nail-biting tie went to penalties and, although both keepers made fine saves, WBS held their nerve to progress to the next round of the County Cup.
