Former Student Delivers ‘Careers in Law’ Talk

Lucy Speed, Associate Solicitor at Lanyon Bowdler in Shrewsbury

Former Bridgnorth Endowed School student, Lucy Speed, came into school to talk to the current Year 11 about her rewarding career in law last Friday.

Lucy, who is an associate solicitor at local law firm, Lanyon Bowdler, highlighted the varied range of cases she has dealt with, from divorces to people in trouble abroad.

Importantly, she also covered the kind of earning potential to expect within the industry, which is something the students were especially keen to explore.

A few of the Year 11 students, having already indicated that they may be interested in a career in law, found the assembly particularly useful as they make crucial decisions about their next steps.

Careers Leader, Miss Edwards, said: “A big thank you to Lucy for giving our students some insight into the legal profession. We have asked her to come in again to talk to our Year 10s and she also plans to deliver a mock trial, which is very exciting.”
