Former Bridgnorth Endowed student, Harry Lowbridge, who has been cast as Coronation Street’s latest villain, came into school on Friday to inspire our students and meet up with Mr Lewis, his drama teacher from almost a decade ago.
Harry’s very first appearance on the long-running primetime soap was due to be aired that evening and excitement about his visit was buzzing around the school.
After catching up with Mr Lewis, Harry took part in a Q&A session with our Year 11 GCSE drama students and answered a range of questions about his time at BES, his journey to becoming a professional actor and what it’s really like behind-the-scenes on Corrie.
Reflecting on his time at school, Harry talked about how he fell in love with the stage at BES and, with some encouragement from Mr Lewis, went on to play the lead in Peter Pan amongst other roles in some of the annual school productions.
Out of school, Harry was a member of the Central Youth Theatre in Wolverhampton and after his time at Bridgnorth Endowed, he headed off to drama school in London. Now aged 25, he has big ambitions of building a successful career as an actor. Well done to Harry and we look forward to closely following his progress.
