Students from Years 7 and 8 were buzzing with anticipation yesterday morning, as they lined up in their houses to run 5K as part of the Great Ormond Street Race for the Kids.
Flags were flying and coloured flares set off to build the excitement of competing for their houses and the runners headed off amidst cheers of encouragement from all.
The route took them from Bridgnorth Endowed, down through the Dingle, around the Friars Playing Fields three times and back up to school, where runners and walkers were welcomed by classmates and staff.
Bridgnorth Endowed School Headteacher, Mr Penn, comments: “What a wonderful day surrounded by children trying to make a difference to the lives of others.”
“We’d also like to give a special mention to Mark Ainsworth and Paul Blount of Fairway EV Ltd, who ensured everyone was able to take part in the run by lending us a golf buggy.”
Thank you to all who helped us raise over £1400 for this extremely worth cause.
