Meet the New BES Equestrian Team

A group of four students recently saddled up to represent Bridgnorth Endowed in a National Schools Equestrian Association inter-school event at Allens Hill Centre near Pershore.

Year 10 pupils, Agatha Liddle, Katie Sands and Erin Abbiss, along with Erin’s younger sister Ruby, from Year 8, approached Headteacher, Mr Penn, and asked if they could ride under the BES banner in the NSEA.

Their first outing as a school team saw them show jumping to success as Ruby, in a large class of 40 people, came second with a foot-perfect round on her pony Miami, beaten by only two seconds.

Meanwhile, in the 80cm Class, Agatha on Smartie got us off to a cracking start with a win, closely followed by Erin on Pluto in third place and Katie who came fourth.

Katie then went on to secure second place in the 90cm Class on 16.2-hand Ballinvoher Zidane, affectionately known as Leo.

Ruby and Erin’s mum proudly reported: “It was a great day out with wonderful team spirit and all students looking out for each other.”

“We are now busy working out which competitions we need to enter to qualify and will keep you posted on our progress.”

Well done TEAM BES!
