Food Bank Thanks Pupils, Parents and Staff

Bridgnorth Food Bank has sent a letter of thanks to Bridgnorth Endowed School pupils, parents and staff for the generous contributions that were collected at a school event held in December.

The Advent Campaign was a great success and enabled the local charity to give people some extra Christmas goodies as well as their normal food parcels.

Bridgnorth Food Bank launched its emergency food service from a distribution centre on West Castle Street in February 2013 and has helped many people over the years.

In the letter, Liz Bird, lead co-ordinator of Bridgnorth Food Bank said: “We are seeing a steady flow of people needing our services in this area, and are grateful for the donations of food and other items that come to us.”

“The food bank continues to help many struggling individuals in the town and surrounding area.”

The centre is open every Monday morning from 10.30 to 12.30, and works on a referral system, where agencies, such as the Job Centre or Citizens Advice, direct people to the service.

More information about the charity can be found on the Bridgnorth Food Bank website
