Bridgnorth Endowed Named Shrewsbury Town’s School of the Day

Students celebrate Bridgnorth Endowed being named Shrewsbury Town’s ‘School of the Day’

Bridgnorth Endowed School is forging even stronger links with Shropshire’s top professional football club, Shrewsbury Town.

Following on from the successful launch of the Bridgnorth Development Centre, which Shrewsbury Town runs from Bridgnorth Endowed for 8 to 12 year olds, the school is set to offer specialist football training to its girls.

Steve Chase, lead co-ordinator for the East Shropshire School Sports Football Partnership, reports:

“We are excited to announce that, after Christmas, Shrewsbury Town’s coaches will be coming into school to work with our aspiring female footballers as part of the Premier League Stars campaign.”

“We’re aware of the lack of opportunity for girls’ football in this area and are doing all we can to generate the demand to enable us to provide girls with more routes into grassroots football.”

To celebrate the exciting news, Bridgnorth Endowed has been named Shrewsbury Town’s ‘School of the Day’.

On top of that, the school has also been given 100 free tickets for the Coventry City home game on Saturday 22nd December and will feature on the scoreboard at half-time during the game.
