Bridgnorth Endowed Supports Local Food Bank

Students from each tutor group from Rowley, Hardwicke and Washbrook

For the sixth year running, students and staff from Bridgnorth Endowed School supported the local food bank by hosting a charity collection event last Thursday.

Donations were brought into school and gathered together during tutor time, ready for Liz Bird, lead co-ordinator of Bridgnorth Food Bank, to come in and collect.

The response to this year’s campaign was impressive and Liz reported that she was extremely pleased with the range of food and drink items, as well as toiletries, cleaning essentials, and even donations for pets.

Bridgnorth Food Bank launched its emergency food service from a distribution centre on West Castle Street in February 2013 and has helped many people in need over the years.

The centre is open every Monday morning from 10.30 to 12.30, and works on a referral system, where agencies, such as the Job Centre or Citizens Advice, direct people to the service.
