BES Launches Second-Hand Uniform Shop

With rising costs and waste reduction in mind, Bridgnorth Endowed has taken steps to set up an online shop to offer good quality second-hand uniforms to parents.

From jumpers and blazers to skirts and sports tops, the shop is selling uniform items from as little as a few pounds and the benefits go far beyond bagging a bargain.

The ‘Grown Out of It’ platform was born from the desire to cut waste and lower carbon emissions by recycling perfectly good clothes children have grown out of in the blink of an eye.

School administrator and project leader, Gemma Barrett, has taken up the challenge and is on a mission to build a handy hub to help parents get hold of essential uniform items at a good price.

Gemma explains: ” The idea came from seeing similar projects launched nationally and the benefits this could bring to our families, especially now with the rising cost of living affecting many of us.”

“With the end of the school year around the corner, we thought it would be the ideal time to ask parents to bring in any unwanted items destined for landfill for us to pass onto others.”

To donate uniform to the new online shop, please take any clean items in good condition to the office and the school will do the rest. All proceeds from the sales will go into a fund to help families in crisis who are in need of extra support for school uniform and other basics.
