Enjoying their first season at secondary school level, Bridgnorth Endowed’s U12 cricket squad are already at full pace in this year’s County Cup Competition.

The first round saw them storm past William Brookes with all ten bowlers restricting the score to 56 and the top four batsmen securing a winning result of 57 in 12 overs.

With a semi-final at stake, BES went on to meet Oldbury Wells School in an exciting local derby where both sides pulled out all the stops to bag the win.

Oldbury batted first, but an outstanding BES performance in the field put pressure on the batters, who mostly produced singles to get to 60. This time, it took the top three Bridgnorth Endowed batters just 13 overs to reach the winning score.

The team now play Prestfelde School in the semi-final of the County Cup after half term.
