Three talented pupils from Bridgnorth Endowed School ran for Shropshire last Saturday, in an inter-county cross country competition against Surrey, Cheshire, Cumbria, Merseyside, Staffordshire and the West Midlands.
The top twelve runners from each county were selected, so around 130 competitors took part in every category.
Zoe Gilbody did exceptionally well and led from start to finish in the Year 7 girls’ 2000-metre race.
Henry Gibbons came 72nd in the Year 7 boys’ event and Charlotte Gilbody took 35th place in the 4000-metre run for Year 10/11 girls.
Although conditions were challenging, with a wet and muddy course, the Bridgnorth Endowed School students helped Shropshire achieve fourth place overall.
