Pupils Attend Inspiring Enterprise Conference

Year 9 students at Shrewsbury School for the Future Enterprise Conference

A group of Year 9s with a keen interest in business joined students from The Priory and Shrewsbury School to take part in the second Future Enterprise Conference hosted by Shrewsbury School last Friday.

The event opened with a welcome speech from chartered accountant, Emmalene Maxwell, who has notched up corporate experience with the likes of American Express, L’Oréal, Charlotte Tilbury and is currently CFO of contemporary womenswear label The Fold.

Other local business owners and entrepreneurs also spoke to the students about their fields of expertise and went on to lead workshops that covered a range of different topics, including building a brand, starting a business, and the importance of teamwork.

To wrap things up, the students all came together for a Q&A session, where questions they had submitted were answered by the experts.

Bridgnorth Endowed’s Careers Lead, Miss Edwards, commented: “I’d like to thank Shrewsbury School for inviting us to this inspiring event which offered our students some insight as they prepare for the world after school and beyond.”
