Year 7s Hit the Dance Floor for Disco Fundraiser

Disco fever came to Bridgnorth Endowed School at a glittering Year 7 Valentine’s fundraiser held in the Old Hall on Monday.

Over 50 pupils attended and had a great time dancing the evening away to top tunes from BES Head of House, DJ Broomy.

Year 7 pupil, Poppy Lang, commented: “The disco was fantastic and, although people were a bit shy to start with, the music was so good that everyone ended up dancing and singing along to all the songs.”

“Our year group gets on really well and we’d definitely love to do something like this again.”

The special event was organised to support Year 9 pupils, Evie Spencer and Leo Davies, who are raising funds to cover their costs for going to the World Scout Jamboree in Korea next summer.

Very much a team effort, Evie and Leo had baked some fabulous Valentine’s cakes to go on sale with an array of other refreshments, and decorations crafted by the Year 7 Form Reps at Art Club with Mrs Rhodes, were used to jazz up the hall.

The Heads of Houses and Year 11 House Captains also helped out to make sure everything ran smoothly, and the evening, which raised £140, was hailed a huge success.

Senior Leader, Mrs Tristham, summed up: “It was one of the first social events since Covid restrictions and great to see the Old Hall alive once again with music, dancing and happy pupils.”
