Congratulations to the Year 7 boys’ football squad, who beat Oswestry School 3-1 in an all Shropshire English Schools Trophy fixture last night.
The match, which was the second round of the national cup tournament, saw BES give a fantastic team display with two goals from Isaac Gibbard and one from defender, Jobe Griffiths-Jones.
In round one, the boys enjoyed a 6-1 victory against Ludlow and their top performances now take them to the later stages of their cup campaign.
PE teacher, Mr Chase, said: “We await the draw to see who we’ll play in the third round but there’s certainly more to come from these boys.”
Both Year 11 and Year 8 have also made it through to round two of the competition, after Year 11 romped to a 7-0 win against Norton Canes High and Year 8 defeated Church Stretton 4-3.
