Year 6 Transition Days

Year 6 pupil taking part in a science lesson last Thursday

Primary school pupils due to start at Bridgnorth Endowed School this September enjoyed a taste of what’s to come at the first of two transition days, held last Thursday.

The new starters experienced a range of subjects, including English, maths, science and art, where they tried their hand at self-portraits, maths quizzes and fun science experiments.

After a tasty American- themed lunch to celebrate Independence Day, the whole group came together to finish off with a lively music lesson.

The transition from primary to secondary school is a big step and these days are specifically designed to support the journey to Year 7, making sure the move goes as smoothly as possible.

The second transition day will take place on Wednesday, followed by a New Parents’ Evening on the same day.

This event will give children and parents the opportunity to meet tutors and organise essentials, such as lockers and school uniform.

Then the next big date in the calendar is the start of the new school year, which is on Wednesday 4th September.
