Bridgnorth Endowed School students, Zoe and Charlotte Gilbody, triumphed at the European Biathle Championships held in Madeira at the end of June.
Zoe is now the European U15 Biathle Champion and her sister, Charlotte, worked her socks off from start to finish to gain a podium position in the U17s.
The two also enjoyed success in the paired relay event. Zoe and her partner Elliot won their race, and Charlotte and her partner Sam came third in the Under-17 category.
Zoe comments: “It feels really good to have won the biathle and I’m now looking forward to the qualifiers for the World Championships, which are due to be held in Germany next year.”
Over the summer, Zoe will be concentrating on her track racing, specifically the 800m and 1500m distances.
