Last weekend, a group of determined Year 11 students set out on a sponsored walking challenge to raise funds for their upcoming leavers’ prom this June. With the goal of making the milestone event affordable and accessible to all, the students took on an impressive 31-mile walk spread across two days, complete with an overnight campout.
The route, which started and ended at Bridgnorth Endowed School, led the group up to the summit of Brown Clee Hill, and there were some extra challenges along the way. To keep things entertaining, students from across the school had set some creative tasks, including regularly doing handstands, communicating in song titles, and even moonwalking for a section of the journey.
This walk is just one of several fundraising efforts organised by the Year 11s. Earlier in the year, they ran a stall at the Bridgnorth Endowed Christmas Fair, and in the next couple of weeks, they plan to sell merchandise during the school’s production of Matilda The Musical JR. Anyone wishing to support their fundraising efforts can make a donation via their GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/928bb400.
