Strategy Club Visits Warhammer World

BES students battling it out in a team competition at Warhammer World in Nottingham

Members of Bridgnorth Endowed’s Strategy Club took in the delights of Warhammer World on an exciting trip to the Games Workshop Headquarters in Nottingham earlier this month.

As avid fans of the battle-based board game, the group of students relished the chance of playing three games in a nail-biting team competition held in the impressive surroundings of the Gaming Hall.

This unique gaming experience, which attracts worldwide popularity, involves model figures being moved around a realistic battlefield in a game governed by rules, tactics, measurements and dice.

Creativity also plays a key part as players paint figures to add to their collections and build sets with fantastic scenery, buildings, landmarks and shrubbery.

The trip included a visit to the world-famous Exhibition Centre with its huge dioramas and cases of beautifully-painted models that bring the worlds of Warhammer to life in magnificent detail.

BES teacher, Mr Clayton, who runs Strategy Club commented: “The exhibition was truly inspiring and some sets included thousands of figures, which were a real spectacle! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and many returned home with bagfuls of new pieces from the Warhammer World Store.”

Strategy Club takes place at lunchtime twice a week and after school on Fridays. To join, simply turn up or see Mr Clayton for further details.
