Strategy Club Large Battle Event

Strategy Club members at the Large Battle Event this week

Strategy Club took to the battlefields at a special ‘large battle’ event that took place in school over two afternoons earlier this week.

The event gave club members the opportunity to play large games, which are not normally possible at the after-school sessions held every Friday.

Students enjoyed some diverse games based in Tolkien’s Middle Earth, the world of Star Wars, and Games Workshop’s Age of Sigmar and 40,000 AD.

The popular club has been running in the school for over 30 years and has introduced hundreds of students to military history, tactical thinking and a variety of craft and modelling skills.

Mr Clayton, who leads the club, explained: “Games are played with painted figures on a model landscape and a complex set of rules governs movement, shooting, melee and morale.”

“This week’s event was a huge success and the boys thoroughly enjoyed the longer sessions to really get into the games and hone their strategic battle skills.”
