School Show 2020: Beauty and the Beast

Cast members at the first read-through of Beauty and the Beast

Auditions for Beauty and the Beast took place on Wednesday 3rd July and rehearsals are already well underway for next year’s much-anticipated school show.

The lead roles were recently announced, with Edward Tellam-Clark set to play Beast, alongside Lucy Leith starring as Belle.

The supporting cast includes Lily Childs, Miles Humphries, Fergus Edwards, Tom Crann, Amelia Hiam, Ruby Bicknell, Emma Moreton, Amelia Reynolds, Hannah Osbourne, Tom Lowe, Caitlin Rogers, Hannah Tranter, Jack Foster and Alfie Bagnall.

Based on the Academy Award-winning Disney animated feature, Beauty and the Beast tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a small town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress.

If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out…

The screen-to-stage adaptation includes all of the wonderful songs from the original film, along with some new material from Alan Menken and Tim Rice. This, together with the scope for exciting costume and set design, promises to deliver family theatre at its very best.

Beauty and the Beast will run at the Bridgnorth Endowed Leisure Centre from 26th to 28th March 2020.
