NEW Plant and Animal Art Competition Launched

After the success of the recent Filtermist art competition, the Creative Arts Department would like to invite all students to enter The Nancy Rothwell Award.

Organised by the Royal Society of Biology and Royal Veterinary College, the competition is now open for submissions from students aged 7 to 18.

The award celebrates specimen drawing in schools and highlights the benefits of combining art and science.

Students are asked to draw, paint, sketch or digitally create artwork capturing plant and animal anatomy.

The closing date is on 29th July 2022 and prizes will be awarded to three different age categories – 7 to 11, 12 to 14 and 15 to 18.

The overall winner in each category will be awarded a set of drawing pencils, a certificate and £25, and the top three runners up in each category will also receive prizes.

Any students interested, please see Mrs Rhodes in ST8 to gain some inspiration from examples of previous years’ entries and details on how to submit your work.
