Due to popular demand, Bridgnorth Endowed is thrilled to announce the launch of the BES Darts Academy – an exciting new initiative that will soon be open to its students and young people from other local schools.

The academy will offer free weekly after-school sessions for under 16s, providing a fun, safe, and inclusive space for budding players to play, practise, and compete in the fantastic game of darts.

To kick things off, the school is hosting a special ‘celebrity’ match on Friday 13th June, featuring oche star students Ryan Gaff and JJ Dean, alongside sharp-shooting teachers Mr Hughes and Mr Noble.

Ryan, from Year 11, shares a passion for darts with his dad, with both playing in the Bridgnorth Men’s Darts League. Having grown up around the game, Ryan’s experience and skill earned him the role of captain for the Bridgnorth Endowed team in their first-ever inter-school match against Telford’s Charlton School last month.

Year 7 student JJ Dean discovered darts through the Play Academy and has been honing his skills for around three years. Known for his keen mind and lightning-fast checkout calculations, JJ has quickly made a name for himself as a young talent to watch.

To help make the BES Darts Academy a success, Bridgnorth Endowed is aiming to raise £1,000 to buy five darts lanes. Every donation, no matter the size, will play a vital role in creating this wonderful opportunity for our young people.
