Medal Joy at Florida World Champs

Bridgnorth Endowed School students, Zoe and Charlotte Gilbody, recently returned from the World Biathle Championships in Florida with an impressive haul of medals.

Along with younger brother Kody, the siblings brought home four between them after the big international event that saw 34 countries take part.

Zoe and Charlotte – competing in the under-15 and under-17 categories respectively – both scooped gold in each of their team events, representing Great Britain.

Zoe, with partner Kai Crawford, also triumphed in the mixed relay by clinching the silver and Kody took bronze in the under-11 race.

“It was a fantastic experience for all of them,” said proud mum, Gayle Gilbody.

“I think it’s the most successful year Great Britain has had at the event, and it was the most competitive it has been. Biathle is a growing sport.”

Biathle is a continuous run-swim-run competition that consists of a run to start and then an open water swim before a final run to the finish line.

Huge congratulations go to Charlotte, Zoe and Kody.
