Martha’s 90-Mile Charity Challenge

Martha Bradburn, who is walking 90 miles in 90 days

With a special cause in mind, Year 9 Bridgnorth Endowed student, Martha Bradburn, has chosen to complete a charity fundraising challenge for the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award she’s currently working towards.

Run by close friends of her family, childhood leukaemia charity PreventALL is a cause that’s close to her heart, so Martha made the decision to walk 90 miles in 90 days to raise vital funds.

The Telford-based charity, set up by Jo and Chris Edwards just last year, came as a result of their son’s diagnosis with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and their desire to help in some way.

The main aim of the charity is to raise money for research carried out at the Institute of Cancer Research in London, and to support families with children going through treatment across the region.

Understanding the emotional and financial pressures placed on families experiencing these diagnoses and long treatment pathways, Jo and Chris were keen to help relieve those pressures a little, in the form of small grants or wishes granted.

Determined to do all she can, Martha is already halfway through her challenge and has smashed her initial target of £100 but hopes to achieve even more in support of this extremely worthwhile charity.
