Introducing the New Head Boy and Head Girl

The new BES Head Boy and Girl – Tom Clayden and Ellie Conner

Congratulations to Thomas Clayden and Ellie Conner who have been announced as the new Head Boy and Head Girl for this academic year.

Tom is studying GCSE triple science, French, geography and computer science, and in the future hopes to do something with computers, such as cyber security.

His hobbies include swimming and badminton, and he is also a member of the school’s Culture Club, which explores the big ideas in English literature.

Ellie would like to take biology, chemistry, psychology and core maths at A Level and go on to study either medicine or biology/biomedical sciences with the ultimate aim of becoming a paediatrician or secondary school science teacher.

In her spare time, Ellie has spent the past couple of years raising the profile of girls’ football in the local area and, together with a team of other ambassadors, she has helped to establish multiple girls’ teams in Bridgnorth.

In their new posts, the two Year 11s are expected to act as positive role models for other students, support the ethos and values of the school, and take on leadership responsibilities, both at school and within wider community.

Day-to-day duties include liaising with the House Captains and Senior Leadership Team, holding assemblies and organising school events, including house matches and competitions.

Good luck to Tom and Ellie for the year ahead.
