Double Celebration For Bridgnorth Endowed

BES Year 8 boys who beat Aylestone School in Round 2 of the English Schools’ FA Cup

BES has cause for double celebrations as both Year 7 boys and Year 8 boys have won their Round 2 matches and progressed to the final 32 of the English Schools’ FA Cup.

Last week, the Year 7s triumphed with a 9-3 win against Dyson Perrins of Malvern, which featured some spectacular goals from Noah Bissell and Archie Williams.

Then on Monday it was the turn of the Year 8 boys, who made the 50-mile journey to Hereford, where they played Aylestone School at Westfields Football Club.

Following a close first half and some missed opportunities, Bridgnorth finally broke the deadlock after excellent play from Charlie Knowles and Max Whitehouse saw Harry Quinton finish.

Ryan Gaff, who had tormented the Aylestone defence throughout, finally put the game to bed with two excellent finishes to end the game 3-0.

A welcome return for team captain Charlie Curl Cutler in goal. Both teams await the draw to see who they play in the last 32.

Congratulations to the boys and the very best of luck for their upcoming matches. Follow their progress on the ESFA website
