Bridgnorth Endowed students enjoyed a Christmas Concert with a difference this year, as the surge in Covid cases meant that parents and other visitors were sadly unable to attend the popular annual event.
Instead, those involved in the concert made their way to St Mary’s Church on Tuesday morning and performed in front of a camera to capture the pieces they had prepared and share some festive joy.
The packed programme included carols, drama pieces, readings, musical instrument performances and a beautiful piano solo from Bridgnorth Endowed’s piano teacher, Oliver Clarke.
The Reverend Prebendary Simon Cawdell delivered the opening address with a special focus on coming together to celebrate Christmas and, for a moment, putting aside the troubles and the difficulties we’ve been facing in recent times.
Miss Edwards, from the Creative Arts Department, said: “Although it was a strange experience for the students to perform without an audience, they thoroughly enjoyed the morning and soaked up the lovely Christmas atmosphere in church.”
“We’d like to thank Reverend Cawdell and our wonderful extra-curricular piano teacher, Oliver Clarke, for taking part in the event and helping to make it special for us all.”
