Careers Workshops to Help Year 11 Students Prepare

Anna Brett talking to Year 11 students about interview techniques

Youth Enterprise Adviser, Hannah Taylor, came into school with Anna Brett from recruitment company, ResourceBank, to run an interview techniques workshop on Tuesday 1st October.

The session, which covered areas such as typical interview questions, was designed to support Year 11 students as they prepare to move into the next phase of education, be it college or an apprenticeship.

This comes as part of a series of informative assemblies and workshops, including CV writing, skills for life, and organisation structure and equality.

Hannah comments: “I’ve been an Enterprise Adviser since February 2019 and, as a mother of two, I have a personal interest in offering my support and guidance to young people, helping them to prepare for the world of work.”

“I have a great deal of experience to share, both as an HR and Recruitment Specialist and Managing Director for Propel HR – a Shropshire-based consultancy focused on delivering ethical and modern-day employment advice to individuals and business leaders.”

Still to come are two more assemblies, one on real life career journeys with guest speakers and another, which takes a closer look at working life.
