Congratulations to Year 10 student, Caitlin Belcher, who played handball for Shropshire in a nail-biting national final that took place in Derby yesterday.
The Under-16 girls’ team took an early lead against Stroud and played a strong first half that saw them 12-7 in front, with Caitlin scoring an impressive goal in the 11th minute of the match.
Unfortunately, the second half signalled a gear-change and Stroud went on to record a successful comeback that resulted in a 15-22 win for the title.
The Shropshire squad were awarded silver medals for coming second in the national league, a fantastic achievement the girls can be extremely proud of.
