Students from Year 7 have enjoyed being the first group to use the laser cutting machine to finish off their Blox Bot design technology projects this term.
Until now, pupils have painted their lovingly-made wooden characters, but this year they’ve been able to enhance their designs with some extra features.
The additional processes have involved designing plastic accessories on the computer, then laser cutting them to size before fixing them to the wood.
DT teacher, Mr Davenport, comments: “We’ve all loved doing this project with the new plastic parts and the results speak for themselves. Every time I look at the Blox Bots, I can’t help smiling.”
