BES Girls’ Cricket at Full Blast

The spell of fine weather has produced something of a cricket bonanza for Bridgnorth Endowed students, with our U13 and U15 girls’ teams producing some impressive performances.

Since their adventures in the National Softball Cup against Bedstone School a few weeks ago, the U13 girls have continued to improve and went on to enjoy a successful run at an all-day Shropshire Schools’ Cricket Board competition, held at Frankwell Cricket Club last Thursday.

Gaining confidence and experience with every game played in the Chance to Compete tournament, the team won three matches, lost two, and ended up a creditable fifth position overall.

In their most recent outing to an Area School Games Competition held at Shifnal Cricket Club, the girls produced their best cricket yet and finished in a three-way tie, narrowly missing out on the title, which went to Idsall School on points difference.

A week later, the U15 girls’ team went one better by remaining unbeaten after four rounds and winning their Chance to Compete event in convincing style.

This top team now progress to the regional finals, where they are looking forward to representing Shropshire at Edgbaston Cricket Club on Tuesday 4th July.

Huge congratulations to both teams.
