Year 9 Student Stars in Theatre Severn Show

Two sell-out performances of Bugsy Malone at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn earlier this month, saw Year 9 BES student, Harry Lewis, take on the title role in the 1920s gangster extravaganza.

After several Covid-related postponements, it was splurge guns at the ready as Get Your Wigle On’s Junior Company took to the stage and wowed audiences, who gave not one but two standing ovations on the final night.

Already a seasoned performer, Harry has been with the multi award-winning company for three years and has previously played lead roles such as Marty in Madagascar and the Artful Dodger in Oliver.

In school, the talented 13-year-old is also heavily involved with the Creative Arts Department and is set to share the challenging role of Beast in Bridgnorth Endowed’s production of Beauty and the Beast, which opens next spring.

Huge congratulations to Harry on his outstanding theatrical achievements and we very much look forward to finding out how he gets on in the upcoming school show.
