Winners of Easter Bake Off Revealed

The winning bake by Alice Wickens from Year 7

Bridgnorth Endowed students hoping to dazzle judges with their baking skills for the school’s Easter Bake Off competition certainly didn’t disappoint.

Food teacher, Mrs Lowden, announced the winners yesterday and said she was “very impressed by the amount of effort and detail that had gone into all of the entries.”

First place went to Alice Wickens, from Year 7, for her exquisite Victoria sandwich cake decorated with spring flowers and Easter nests (see right).

Judges praised her for “a beautifully-risen Victoria sandwich cake, traditionally decorated using two other cooking methods which were well executed.”

Sophie Stridgen (Year 8) was awarded second for her “attractively decorated white fondant cake” and Gracie Evers (Year 7) came third with her chocolate Easter rabbit cake.

Other star bakers included Year 7 students, Isobel Onions, whose chocolate ganache nests were highly commended, and Zack Round for his biblical-themed cake showing the Easter path to the cross.

Congratulations to everyone who took part.
