Update from the Headteacher

The first half term of the school year is always the busiest and this year is no exception. As students and staff approach the break, it is important to reflect on some of the highlights of the year so far.

I would like to say thank you to staff, students and parents for welcoming me to Bridgnorth Endowed. I am extremely proud of our students and their work over the recent weeks.

This half term, we have welcomed 28 tours of prospective students, as well as hosting an extremely well-attended Open Evening, where our student ambassadors (about 20% of the school) volunteered their time and demonstrated the school expertly.

We have seen amazing achievements with our sports teams, rehearsals are in full swing for ‘We Will Rock You’ and there have been some fantastic contributions from students taking part in school competitions and events.

Looking ahead, we have our Year 11 Information Evening on Thursday 3rd November, where we will be explaining how the GCSE examinations will run this year and how students can best prepare. We encourage all Year 11 parents and carers to attend so we can work together to support students and help them to fulfil their potential.

We will begin the second autumn half term with a few changes to where students are during break and lunchtime to ensure that they can get served promptly. We will communicate these with parents and pupils in the first week back. I wish all staff and students a restful half term and look forward to welcoming you back on Halloween.

Mr M. Penn
