Tree of Wishes to Welcome Christmas

Students from Years 7 and 8 got into the festive mood this week by writing Christmas wishes to adorn their beautiful tree, which stands in pride of place in the Old Hall.

Keen to raise the spirits of students and staff after a difficult year, Headteacher, Mr Worth, arranged for seven Christmas trees to be put up around the school.

With all pupils currently spending their entire school day within year group bubbles, he felt it was important to bring Christmas to their individual zones and retain as much normality as possible.

Creative Arts Technician, Miss Edwards, who took on the task of coordinating the decoration of all seven trees, brought plenty of sparkle to the school and gave each tree its own unique style.

Commenting on the pupils’ wishes, she said: “Many of our students wished that COVID would disappear so families were able to spend Christmas together. This was closely followed by the wish for lots of snow.”
