Once again, students, parents and staff from Bridgnorth Endowed have stepped up to support the local food bank by running its annual Christmas appeal in school.

Donations of non-perishable food items and other essentials were collected in school, before being taken up to the team at Bridgnorth Food Bank yesterday morning.

Head of House and English teacher, Ms Poole, who organised the drive, commented: “We’re extremely pleased with the response that our school has made for such a good cause.”

“We are always keen to contribute to the community and try to get students involved in initiatives that make a positive difference to others. I’d like to thank everyone who made a contribution.”

Bridgnorth Food Bank launched its emergency food service from a distribution centre on West Castle Street in February 2013 and has helped many people in need over the years.

The centre is open on Mondays from 10.30 to 12.30, and works on a referral system, where agencies, such as the Job Centre or Citizens Advice, direct people to the service.
