Pupils Unveil Banner for French Twin Town Art Display

Mrs Rhodes and students with their colourful ‘faire danser sa palette’ banner

A beautiful banner created by a group of Bridgnorth Endowed students is about to embark on a journey to feature in an art display in Thiers, France – Bridgnorth’s twin town for more than 40 years.

The theme was ‘Making the Palette Dance’ and the group’s design aim was to show a variety of colours blended together to reflect movement and dance.

The students planned the whole project together, using pattern and bold, bright colours to make sure the banner could be seen clearly, both from a distance and up close.

Art teacher, Mrs Rhodes, said: “The students gave up their own time and worked so hard with a great deal of enthusiasm and commitment to meet the tight deadline.”

“They thoroughly enjoyed being involved in an after-school activity as it’s been such a long time since they were last able to do anything like this. We sincerely hope that this will continue.”

The BES banner will be displayed in the town of Thiers throughout June.

A big thank you to Amelie Maynard, Ben Arch, Jack Butler, Emelia White, Sophie Hill, Maisy Minifie Jennings and Henry Rhodes for submitting a fantastic banner on behalf of the school.
