Praise for Lockdown PE Stars

Year 7 student Josh Sykes tackling one of the PE challenges

Josh Sykes from Year 7 has received high praise from the PE department for his incredible commitment to completing all of the sports activities set during the school closure.

PE teacher, Mr McAdam, commented: “Josh has taken on every single challenge with great enthusiasm and uploaded evidence, such as photos, fitness scores and sports day results, without fail.”

“In fact, we’re extremely proud of many of our students who stepped up to the mark and went above and beyond our expectations – they have been amazing at this difficult time.”

Since March, the PE department has set weekly activities for all students from Years 7 to 10, ranging from fitness to football, tennis to athletics, and recently culminating in a virtual sports day and BES biathlon.

Mr McAdam added: “The response to our programme has been inspirational, as a big part of its success rests with the students we teach. Their dedication provides the much-needed belief that we will work our way out of the coronavirus.”

“To Josh and all of the students who worked exceptionally hard in PE – you are truly awesome!”
