As part of its strategy to support parents and carers, Bridgnorth Endowed delivered two free workshops alongside Shropshire Council’s Parenting Team at a training event held in school last Wednesday.

Over twenty parents attended the two-hour sessions, which covered a range of topics to help them understand the stages of development in the teenage years and give practical advice on how best to support their child in today’s challenging world.

The groups explored what happens to the brain as a child hits adolescence, how to communicate with teens, ways to help them build resilience, the importance of learning to let go, and picking the right battles.

The workshops were a great success and all parents reported that they found it very useful and felt they could make positive changes as a result of what they had learnt.
