Last Thursday, our incredible swim team took part in the Shropshire Schools Swimming Gala at Thomas Telford School, competing against other students from Years 7 to 13.
It was a fantastic day filled with determination, team spirit and an impressive number of personal bests.
Everyone gave it their all, with a few bravely stepping up to compete as the younger swimmers in the two-year age group categories – and delivering some outstanding results.
The whole team did us proud, but several members of the team produced standout performances that deserve special recognition.
🏊 Izzy Homer was in superb form, becoming Inter Girls County Champion in the 200m Individual Medley, smashing her personal best by a staggering 6.5 seconds. She also achieved a new personal best in the Inter Girls 100m Freestyle.
🏊 Emily Gurr claimed the title of Junior Girls 100m Backstroke Champion with a fantastic swim.
🏊 Martha Gibbard powered to victory in the Inter Girls 100m Backstroke, earning herself a well-deserved county title.
🏊 Reece Thomas not only won the Junior Boys 100m Freestyle, but also achieved a new personal best in the Junior Boys 100m Breaststroke.
🏊 Jack Cook recorded a new personal best in the Inter Boys 200m Individual Medley.
Well done to Team BES, who represented the school brilliantly both in and out of the pool.
