New Food Technology Teacher

Newly appointed food technology teacher – Mrs Lowden

We’re delighted to introduce Mrs Jane Lowden, the newly appointed food technology teacher at Bridgnorth Endowed School.

With an impressive track record and an extensive career in teaching, she joins us from Ludlow School, where she was Head of Department.

There, she played a key role in establishing the school’s Healthy Eating status and worked hard to inspire young people.

She helped her students to gain work experience in a number of prestigious Ludlow restaurants and encouraged a group to enter a ‘Meat and Education’ competition judged by TV Chef James Martin, where they became regional finalists.

Mrs Lowden enjoys sharing her love of food and promoting healthy eating. Her passion is to see young people develop their skills and become ‘cooks for the future’.

“I see food as a focal subject to promote the health and wellbeing of the students within the school. It’s important for young people to enjoy cooking, improve their ability to make dishes, and feel confident enough to modify recipes.”

Even before her official start in September, Mrs Lowden was keen to come into school during the summer break, to clean and organise the department, and prepare new equipment ready for the students.

Her enthusiasm to create an exceptional department continues as she plans to introduce a number of new and exciting initiatives at Bridgnorth Endowed.
