Introducing Our New Parent Governors

Ian Marshall and Tanya Mathers – our new parent governors

Introducing our newly-elected parent governors, Ian Marshall and Tanya Mathers, who have just joined our governing board following the recent election.

Ian, who gained the most votes in the election, has been nominated as our new parent governor and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

As Deputy Headteacher of a large secondary academy with over 23 years of experience in education, he has a real understanding of how schools work and can be improved.

When asked about his reason for applying to be a parent governor, Ian commented: “I have a vested interest in the community, a desire to see everyone succeed; and will support the school’s drive for excellence and inclusion.”

The second nominee, Tanya Mathers, was also invited to join the governing body as the team felt her background would be invaluable to the school. Tanya, who has a son on Year 9, has been the School Business Manager at Highley Primary School for the past 8 years and currently sits on their governing board as an Associate Governor.

She is currently the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Senior Mental Health Lead for staff at her school and, prior to working in education, Tanya came from the banking industry, where she was involved in finance and project management.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Bridgnorth Endowed’s newest school governors and look forward to working with them.
