A big thank you to Shropshire Cricket Board, who visited our school yesterday to deliver an exciting one-day Cricket Leaders Course to 16 students from Years 7 to 9.

The group of cricket enthusiasts had the fantastic opportunity to explore key aspects of leadership, take the lead on their own sessions, and engage in fun activities such as Rapid Fire and Gate Cricket.

The idea behind the initiative is to equip young people with the skills and confidence to become cricket ambassadors and support events in primary schools and local clubs.

PE Teacher, Mr Noble, who leads Bridgnorth Endowed’s cricket programme, is keen to see even more students, of all abilities, get involved in the sport, emphasising cricket’s inclusivity and accessibility for all.

To encourage participation, the school runs a weekly after-school cricket club on Wednesdays and benefits from Tim Bellett of Shropshire Cricket coming into PE lessons to deliver curriculum-based cricket sessions across all year groups.

Well done to all the students who took part in the training—we look forward to seeing them stepping up as future cricket leaders!
