Head Boy and Head Girl Announced

Harry Jones – the new head boy at Bridgnorth Endowed School

Congratulations to Harry Jones and Lucy Crump who have been announced as the new head boy and head girl for this academic year.

Harry is studying A Level maths, physics and product design, and hopes to go to university to do sports technology. In his spare time, he likes football and plays regularly for his local team.

Harry comments: “I applied to be head boy as I see it as a great opportunity to voice my opinion and help others to get their opinions heard. I feel I’ll not only be able to make positive changes in the school, but this position could also help me in my future career.”

Lucy, a keen horse riding and martial arts enthusiast, is doing A Level maths, business and geography, and plans to go to university to study quantity surveying.

Lucy adds: “As head girl, I really want to be a good role model for younger students. I hope to develop personal skills, such as confidence and leadership, as well as help to make the school environment welcoming and enjoyable for our students.”

In their new posts, the two sixth formers will play key roles as leaders, both within the school and at community events.

The head boy and girl are expected to act as shining examples to all students, and support the ethos and values of the school.

Day-to-day duties include organising school council meetings, managing the House Captains, reporting to the school’s Senior Leadership Team, holding assemblies and taking part in charity fundraising events.

The pair sum up by saying: “We’re both looking forward to running school council meetings and working together to overcome any challenges we may face. Our main aim is to be positive influences and we hope other students will find us approachable and easy to talk to.”
