Seth Cains from Year 10 was only one of the many 9 to 14-year-olds who took part in the 7-mile-long Junior Bridgnorth Walk/Run on the 12th of September this year.

In his sterling effort, he managed to complete it in just under an hour and came first in his age group. He was followed closely by another of BES’s fine athletes, Henry Gibbons (Year 10), who took second place.

The junior route started at Ditton Priors Village Hall, then made the ascent to the trig point on top of the Brown Clee Hill and back down to the finish at the village hall, where the participants were welcomed back with packets of biscuits and water.

When interviewed by the BES News Team, this is what Seth had to say:

What do you think allowed you to get this result?
“The five Weetabix and banana I ate for breakfast.”

Did you find it difficult?
“Yes, but I still enjoyed it.”

Do you think you could’ve gone even faster?
“Nope!”
