A talented group of Year 8 art students from Bridgnorth Endowed School have brought their creativity and imagination to life with this year’s stunning banner for The Bridgnorth Twinning Society. The banner will be showcased in the Thiers Street Banner Art Exhibition in France, which runs from June to October, and will proudly represent our school and community on the international stage.
This year’s impressive banner was designed collaboratively by Year 8 students Natalia Matthews, Sophia Stroud, Reece Jones, Amelia Davies-Payne, Drew Evers, and Bronte Thorniley. Inspired by the theme Light and Shade, they worked together to create a design that divides the banner into two halves, showing the sun and moon, day and night.
The roses featured in the artwork symbolise life and death—one rose thriving in the sunlight, while the other withers in the darkness, capturing the theme beautifully.
To make sure their artwork would stand out from a distance, the students painted the banner with acrylic paint, allowing the bright colours and intricate details to shine through.
The team worked hard, dedicating their lunchtimes to this project with enthusiasm and a great sense of teamwork. We’re incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved, and look forward to seeing the banner displayed in France.
