BES Open Evening 2025
Our Open Evening is on Wednesday 1st October and school will close at 2pm for setup. We invite our students to help as ambassadors from 5.45 to 9pm. Please confirm your child’s participation by Friday 26th September. See letter for details
The Scholastic Book Fair in school next week
Students will visit the fair during their English lessons and bring home a wish list. Orders can be placed online through the Scholastic site (no cash in school). Please return forms to English teachers and complete orders by 9am on 25th September.
School Shop on Arbor
Our school shop is now live on Arbor with a fantastic range of preloved revision guides and uniforms, most priced at just ¼ of the RRP. We also offer everyday essentials, including ties, stationery kits, and student planners – all at affordable prices.
NEW! After-School Dance Classes
Join professional dancer Miss Maddy Constantinou for an exciting new dance class launching on 2nd October. Sessions run every Thursday 3.30 to 5pm in the Leisure Centre Dance Studio, and are just £5.50 per class. Book via Arbor! More details

We’re thrilled to welcome West End star Jessie Hart to BES for 1:1 singing coaching every Thursday as part of our music tuition programme. Develop vocal technique, improve audition skills, and build confidence. Limited places! Email us to book
Free School Meals
Your child could qualify for free school meals if you are in receipt of certain benefits. The application process is quick, confidential, and the school will be notified directly if your child is eligible. Apply through the Shropshire Council website
Free Parenting Sessions
Shropshire Council understands how important parents and carers are, and recognises that parenting isn’t always easy. That’s why the Parenting Team offers workshops with advice and strategies to help manage those everyday challenges. See here
